Last Update: July 2007

At the Guadalupe Restoration Project (GRP), safety receives the highest priority. We believe, as our core value, that every worker and visitor at the site is entitled to a safe work environment and our goal is for everyone to go home injury- and incident-free each night. To help set the guidelines that make the Guadalupe Restoration Project a safe and professional workplace, we have prepared the GRP Health and Safety Plan (HASP). The HASP is a great resource to learn about the specific hazards that could be encountered at the site and it describes how to avoid those hazards. We encourage you to read the HASP and ask the GRP staff questions about anything that is unclear.

Kyle Rutherford, Project Manager

“A delicate balance.” What better way to describe the important work we embark on here at the Guadalupe Restoration Project? Our highly focused team is about to re-initiate the final round of excavations required in the first phase of cleanup. Having wrapped up some key pilot studies – such as the Steam Injection study – and various risk assessments, we are preparing to begin the process of determining the next, and hopefully last, stage of cleanup. Our focus as we look forward is to run an absolutely safe operation to conclude Phase I, while we make every effort to make sure the final phase of cleanup is protective of the remarkable resources contained at this important site. This website is intended to provide a look inside the project and to insure that the public has access to the important decisions that remain to be made here.
